Water Department

Water payments are due on the 1st of each month. If not paid in full by midnight the 15th a $20 late fee is added. If the previous balance (past due) and current months balance is not paid by the 21st your service will be shut off until payment in full is received. A $150 deposit may be required for service to be turned back on. All new water services require a $150 deposit.

We accept online water bill payments.

Didn’t received your water bill? You can add your email to receive your bill. E-Mail BucknerIllinoisWaterClerk@Yahoo.com with your name and email address. You can also visit our online payment site to check your balance. Enter your last name and your account number to see your balance.

EPA Consumer Confidence Report Annual Drinking Water Quality Reports are available online at Village of Buckner CCR Reports Request a copy of the report to be mailed to you. Send e-mail to BucknerIllinoisWaterClerk@yahoo.com or call 618-724-7505. Copies are also available at the Buckner Post office and Buckner Village Hall.

Trash Service

Trash is picked up every Friday unless delayed by the weather. Have your trash can at the curb Thursday night and pull it away when empty. Was your trash not picked up or is your trash can have damage? You can call 618-724-7505 or e-mail BucknerIllinoisWaterClerk@Yahoo.com your name and address it will be reported to the trash company.

Village Hall

Village of Buckner Hall at 200 E. Main St Buckner, IL 62819 is available for Birthday parties, Anniversary celebrations, Graduation parties or any occasions. Call 618-724-7501 to leave your name and number and we will call you back with the details.

Neighborhood Watch

Facebook group Buckner Illinois Neighborhood Watch was created December 12, 2018. Connecting neighbors to share information about community issues, solutions to problems, potential dangers, thefts and break-ins. Make our neighborhood safer by “see something say something.” Franklin County Sheriff’s Department 618-439-4850 and Franklin County Animal Control 618-439-9197.

Buckner History

Buckner was founded in 1850-1860. It was settled and named after MOSES BUCKNER, a Civil War cavalry veteran. The village was incorporated in 1912. Post Office was established on 30 Dec 1898. Buckner, IL Histocy (genealogytrails.com)

Buckner School This is a picture of the first Public school built in Buckner and I believe it was in the year 1916 and had classes from first grade to 5th grade in the Brick building and classes of the 6th , 7th , and 8th . Permits are required for UTV/GOLF CARTS. UTV/Golf If you would like to schedule an appointment to get your UTV/Golf cart inspected to receive a permit contact Fire Chief David at 618-923-4680. Please make payment by check or money order to the Village of Buckner for $24. The permit expires 12/31/27.
